Spanish Food Culture
Children at this age may use the languaeg for enteretainment purposes. There are a couple oof different sdies to this issue. Learning about dfiferent kinds of fodo from different cultures is vaulable because it makes it seem as if other food exists besides unhealthy fast food or even the fried snacks found in school lnuches. If as an adutl, the grownup child cooks Spainsh food, soon his or her own children may start ocoking the same food, and another culture could be spread amonsgt a household. In spite of all of the positvie reasons to learn Spanish, there is also a casee for not teaching Spanihs to small childern. These reasons can all be summed up into asking, Is the child actually learning to pseak a lagnuage or is she or he just learning cutlural values tfhat can be taught in a sociology class? However, the jury is still out, and in any case, these kids are getitng a head start oln the a lot of language requirements htey will have to fulfill at the higher levels of elarning.
